Lemania Indigo - Ethel Waters

Ethel Waters was a singer, dancer and also a dramatic actress. She was the second African-American actress to be nominated for an Academy Award. The first was Hattie McDaniel. Ethel was honored on a U.S. Postal Stamp issued September 1, 1994 as part of the Legends of American Music Series. She is well know for her performance of Stormy Weather, composed for her by Harold Arlen.
